The Mission

A joint letter from the SBF and ISCOS will be sent out to more than 15,000 corporate organisations in Singapore to obtain their commitment in employing 1 ex-offender in their workforce.

The ISCOS member services team will give an overview of employing ex-offenders through a helpline specially set up to assist the business community in nurturing the newly employed ex-offender (employee).

As soon as corporations commit, they will be entered into a database of ready employers who are willing to hire ex-offenders. ISCOS will then job match the ex-offender to the willing employer.

Ex-offenders find it difficult to secure a job to regain their foothold in community, and this is often the reason they feel outcast and fall back into crime. mployment keeps them economically independent and helps them regain their self-esteem.

For the community, providing second chances is very important to the ex-offender during their stages of reintegration.  Ultimately, the act to employ an ex-offender provides them that platform to change and be responsible citizens.
